Agave Heritage Week

Don’t miss Agave Heritage Week, stretching from May 3 through the 8, and right in time for a little Cinco de Mayo celebration! Located at Hotel Congress on Congress Street, times and events vary daily, so check the official site to plan your visit. This annual event features over 30 tequilas, sotols, bacanoras and mezcals, all available for tasting, for those 21 and over.

A celebration of the culinary art, science, heritage and culture behind the agave plant, which comes with influences from the US and Mexico, this is a truly unique way to understand a culture and history through food. On May 3, La Ley will perform at the Rialto, and on May 4 the Agave Industry Tradeshow is in town. If you’ll be attending, rest easy knowing your Tucson hotel is just a short drive away.

The “May” Event

On May 5, a massive Cinco de Mayo celebration kicks off with Roger Clyne, and the Agave Spirit Seminar takes place in the Maynards Drawing Room. May 6 is the second annual Agave Dinner featuring Janos Wilder at the Carriage House, Saul Hernandes performing at the Rialto, and a full El Tambo dance party.

Still haven’t had enough? The Agave Fest takes place May 7 and 8, culminating with a Bloody Maria Bar at the Hot Club with Milagro on the 8.  ¡Arriba!
