Best Trick or Treating in Tucson

Traveling in Tucson this Halloween with little ones? You’ll need to know where the best trick-or-treating spots are, and for those who prefer a truly wild experience, it starts at the Reid Park Zoo! On Halloween weekend, enjoy the Howl-o-ween extravaganza, and see if you can outsmart the animals by going exhibit to exhibit where handlers are armed with sweets. As for the tricks, you can leave that up to some of the permanent residents!

Locals have also ranked the best neighborhoods with the spookiest houses, safest roads and biggest treats. Highly recommended is the Sahuarita district, which is a short distance from downtown Tucson. Known for houses featuring full-sized candy bars and dramatically decorated lawns and porches, it’s perfect for families looking to get away from the Halloween hustle downtown.

A Neigh(boo!)rly Outing

Midvale Park and Armory Park, both areas close to downtown, are also popular areas for trick or treating. With homes closer together and relatively flat sidewalks, you’re sure to get a lot of swag in a short amount of time. Plus, you’ll be able to check out plenty of costumes and jack-o-lantern skills along the way.

Try the Painted Sunset neighborhood for a real treat (and plenty of tricks). Some malls and downtown shops also offer trick or treating and is an option for those who prefer the indoors for the big hunt. However, nothing compares to candy-snagging under the Tucson stars, so get out there and get your sweets!
