Bird and Wildlife Festival

From August 11-14, you can experience “Arizona birding at its finest” at the Bird and Wildlife Festival, where the Tucson Audubon Society kicks off the annual event highlighting the best in local birding. There will be more chances than ever this year to discover the sheer varieties and numbers of birds in Tucson, with field trips offered daily and exciting workshops. Jeff Gordon, the President of the American Birding Association, is this year’s keynote speaker.

Also check out the workshop by hummingbird expert and founder of Southern Arizona’s Bird Observatory, Sheri Williamson. Favorite workshop leader Rick Wright is returning to offer a series on various birding topics, as well as lead one of the field trips that fill up quickly. Social hours and dinners are offered at the vendor fair where you can connect with other birders.

All activities take place at Arizona Riverpark Inn right in downtown Tucson and are close to your hotel. The local conservation and birding community welcomes tourists of all birding levels. Workshops like Museum Birding: From the Specimen Drawer to the Field, Little Brown Jobbers, and Hummingbird ID along with many more are where you can connect with experts and fellow bird lovers. Book your registration now and don’t miss out on one of Tucson’s most popular summer events.
