Chiles, Chocolate and Day of the Dead

Celebrate the Day of the Dead with chiles and chocolate at Tohono Chul October 28 – 29! Festivities happen from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days, and admission is just $15 for the general public, with kids 12 and under free. The sizzling hot chile is a staple at Tohono Chul and pairing it with rich chocolate is the perfect way to cut the heat. The Day of the Dead is a time to honor ancestors and those who have passed away.

Visit a number of chile vendors and make your own Day of the Dead crafts. You can also play with the chiles and chocolate, designing both gorgeous and delicious food crafts under the guidance of culinary experts. Food trucks will be on site with chile roasters, often stealing the show. How much heat can you handle? It’s time to find out!

Arts and Performances

Live entertainment will keep you dancing all day, and area artists will be showcasing and selling their best goods. Shop for edible and strictly ornamental chile plants, and get your face painted in a haunting Day-of-the-Dead style. It’s the perfect place to go for a professionally chilling look before hitting up your evening Halloween plans.

This family-friendly event is a way to learn about the Mexican holiday and how it intertwined with American Halloween. Are you ready to heat things up for the harvest season?
