The"Bestest" Best Western

I have been staying at the Best Western Royal Sun on business travel for several years now. I switched from Farfield Inn, by Marriott properties. One might be concerned about quality in changing from Marriott properties to Best Western. However, I have never been disappointed. Although this is an older property it is maintained as though it is new. The entire team from the General Manager down to the grounds keeper all take great pride in the facility and pay GREAT attention to guest satisfaction. Speaking of the staff. Over several years I have seen no turn over in staff. That speaks volumes for the leadership at this great hotel. (If you are a frequent traveler you already know staff turnover is often high in the lodging industry.)

Best Western Royal Sun has a very clean pool and spa area. They also provide a workout area and vending area. They have several "mini-suites" and "full-suites." The full suites have a front room with a hide a bed couch, chair, coffee table, entertainment center with flat screen TV and a phone. The back room has either two queens or one king bed and a work desk area with speaker phone and wired or wireless internet along with another flat screen TV. All areas of the property are covered by the wireless connection including the pool and spa area. This property has an on site retaurant with a cantina. The breakfast is a choice of five different breakfasts off the menu. Not old, cold, stale rolls and bad fruit. What a refreshing change...at no additional cost.

All rooms also have a hair dryer, Mini-Fridge, and a lit make up mirror. Additionally, many of the rooms connect if you have a large group. I find it an additional value that not only can you get two rooms that connect but several in a row. This allows for movement between several rooms for a large group without having to go outside.

The houskeeping staff is provided a list of inbound guests daily. They always turn the air down in the rooms and have them very cool for your arrival. A great service for sunny, hot Arizona. If you are a Best Western Rewards member there is always an additional treat in the room based on your award level.

The ONLY drawback I see is no microwave in the rooms. However, there is one in the lobby along with a computer and printer for guest use. The lack of the microwave is easily overcome by all the other outstanding features.
Thank you for the great rooms.  Stayed June 2011, traveled on business

Awesome Hotel, Decor, Hotel Staff, Double Awesome Breakfast
Room Accommodations/decor were upscale and very pretty. Hotel personnel were very nice, The Signature Breakfast was the best Continental Breakfast I've ever had. Lots of pillows on the beds and very comfortable. One downfall as you are coming up to the hotel the vacant lot does not give it justice so don't let that fool you travel on into the hotel you will not be dissatisfied.

Four star incredible surprise!
We reserved a room based on TripAdvisor reviews, and they were right on target. One would have NEVER known this was an older property by looking at the rooms, which were fantastic - from draperies to bedding. Front desk personnel couldn't have been any friendlier or helpful. Burnie, our dinner and breakfast server is a fireball. She is truly service oriented - fast, efficient and smiling!

Convenient to U of A
I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. I wanted something clean and close to campus and that is exactly what I received. The rooms have been recently remodeled and the grounds have been well maintained. In addition, my stay included a free breakfast and free cocktails during Happy Hour.

Very Satisfied
Check in was a breeze. The hotel staff was very courteous and professional. The rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was not continental, but rather sit down and order, which was much nicer. The pool however was too hot to stay in for long, but, oh well most places don't have a chiller.

Friendly staff, clean rooms. Liked the shower set up with soap/shampoo dispensers
Would recommend eating at the restaurant, especially in the evening. New manager and cook for the restaurant and the food was very good. The hotel gave us vouchers for a discount plus drink vouchers. Was greatful for the 5 breakfast choices - in particular the fresh fruit/cereal choice.

Great hotel
I had never been to Tucson before, let alone stayed in a Best Western hotel. I have to say this was one of the nicest hotel experiences I have ever had. Very accommodating and helpful. Clean rooms, good restaurant next door, helpful staff... everything you need for a few nights in Tucson.

Great Location for our needs
The Best Western Royal Sun Inn and Suites is located near the University of Arizona campus. We traveled to Tucson to attend ...  our daughter's graduation. The personnel at the desk were courteous and so was the housekeeping staff. We appreciated the services Best Western offers (e.g., complimentary vouchers for breakfast). We ate breakfast at the Royal Sun on four mornings. The waitstaff at the restaurant was great.

Very nice hotel at a great value
My husband and I spent 6 nights here at the beginning of April. We booked a Jr. Suite which was a larger room with a bar and refrigerator. The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean and they had nice fluffy towels. The complimentary sit-down breakfast was good, along with the service. We ate that every morning. It was convenient to I-10 and the University, so getting around was really easy. Overall, it was a great hotel for a really great price.

Close U of A
Good service, rooms, and closeness to everything, including Univ. of Arizona, West Saguaro NP and Desert Museum. Good complimentary hot breakfast and 2-for-1 drinks in bar.

Very good restaurant
The hotel restaurant was comfortable with very good service. And more importantly, the quality and preparation of the food exceeded my expectations.

"Great find"

Excellent location for the city, the university, the highway. Very quiet, nice pool, clean rooms that were much larger than expected. The served breakfast next door was just great. We traveled to Phoenix, the San Xavier Mission, the university with ease. A lot of great places to eat near the university. Would definitely recommend

"Had A Wonderful Stay"
We picked this hotel because of the location and the helpful reviews. The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. The cook to order breakfast was great and the wait staff was very friendly and fast. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgeable, they gave us lots of good information on the local sights and things to do. The pool and hot tub were clean and relaxing. When we come back to Tucson we will check this hotel first.

"Convenient location, clean, and great people made this hotel very pleasant."
"This was a great hotel. Stayed there for 2 nights last week while visiting a friend who lived in the downtown area. This hotel had great personnel. It also came with a complimentary breakfast (hot) -- and the breakfast was the best, it was nice to have as an option. The room we booked had 2 double queen beds, and they were comfortable, and the room was clean, and well appointed to. The internet was complimentary, and it was fast, I had no problems with it.
I am used to usually 4 star hotels, and I was totally satisfied with this hotel for what we paid, it was totally worth it, and I would stay here again if I needed to stay in the downtown area."
-A traveler from DUBAI, UAE & HOUSTON, TEXAS

Clean Hotel
"Clean, neat rooms, close to interstate, fast foods, restaurants, and Univ of Arizona. Billboards announces street turn to look for made hotel easy to find. Restaurant connected to hotel clean and convenient, with low cost, meals. Unhurried atmosphere made my stay very relaxing."
-A traveler from San Antonio, TX

An Oasis
The Best Western Royal Sun was a visual treat with its vibrant courtyard colors. The neighborhood was not overly appealing, ... but the location once we oriented ourselves was very convenient i.e. to downtown, to the University of Arizona, and to the upscale mini malls. The restaurant had an excellent breakfast.
-A traveler from Norfolk, VA

Solid
"Solid accommodations. Best bang for your buck if you need to be near the university of Arizona."
-A traveler from Connecticut

Most Bang for Your Buck
This hotel had a great breakfast deal. The room was amazing with the Jacuzzi tub and it was humongous! It was very close to everything.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
"Eat the breakfast at the little dinner connected to the hotel, it is free if and it is good. You can only have the one thing, but it is good. Take advantage
of the free beer at the bar, it is draft but it is good. The hotel offers these money savings items and we took advantage of them. It was worth it."
-A traveler from Lake Havasu City, AZ

Very Friendly Employees
The Best Western Royal Sun Inn was a great hotel. The staff were friendly and the maid service was outstanding! The outdoor ... heated pool and hot tub were a nice escape in the evening. The best part was the location near I-10 and the main street. I'll Definately stay at this hotel next time I'm in Tucson!
