Kennedy Lake


Kennedy Lake is located at 3600 S. La Cholla Boulevard at J.F. Kennedy Park. Open from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., it’s ten full acres of playground and boating with a maximum depth of 12 feet, making it a perfect fishing destination. No swimming or wading is allowed, but canoes up to 17 feet and boats up to 14 feet are welcome for a full day and evening of fishing and relaxing.

You’ll find generous daily limits including four catfish, four trout, two bass, ten sunfish and one white amur. Group ramadas are also welcome, and there are fantastic playgrounds for the kids. Pack a picnic lunch, rent a boat or bring your own, and discover why so many fishermen/women flock to Tucson for a getaway.

A Retreat Near Tucson

The reservoir has an average depth of just eight feet and can be found just north of Ajo Way halfway between La Cholla Boulevard and Mission Road. Known for largemouth bass, sunfish, rainbow trout and carp, it’s a favorite destination for fishermen/women of all abilities.

Ask your front desk staff about nearby boat rentals and bait shops. If you prefer a fishing tour, there are numerous outfitters nearby happy to take you on an idyllic fishing trip. February is prime time for a catch with moderate temperatures, and of course Valentine’s Day gives you the perfect excuse for a romantic boating trip.
