Mi Nidito and Bill Clinton

Mi NiditoPresidents get special treatment from their own plane to private chefs. Little did you know, you too can get a presidential meal right here in Tucson. No, we can’t fly in the private chef from the White House but you can visit one of the best restaurants in town that received a presidential seal of approval from none other than our very own president, Bill Clinton.

Mi Nidito, known among locals as the best Mexican food in South Tucson, was graced with a visit from our very own president. A member of Clinton’s staff was from Tucson and led him to Mi Nidito while he was in town. This visit resulted in both a gigantic combination plate and a booth named in his honor.

This authentic Mexican restaurant has been around for 50 years and has been drawing locals with the amazing cuisine and fun atmosphere. Known for the chile rellenos, this popular spot draws crowds so expect a wait. Grab a cerveza and enjoy the scene while waiting for food that is so unbelievable it warrants the praise of the leader of the free world. Unfortunately, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
