Music and Dance

Tucson is spilling over with fun, family-friendly events, like the Tucson Desert Song Festival that runs through February 5th! On February 1st, the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music kicks off the month at 7:30 p.m. at the TCC Leo Rich Theater. Performed by the Enso Quartet, you’ll enjoy a one song cycle with all-new music from Tony Arnold, the “bold, powerful interpreter.”

Get a double whammy the next day with a Master Class performance from Kevin Murphy at the UA Fred Fox School of Music’s Holsclaw Hall on February 2nd. The concert starts at 3 p.m.  and features an accompanist from the Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute. The master class is free, open to all and is suited for all abilities.

Love is in the Air

February 3rd features singers from Ravinia’s at Holsclaw Hall at 7 p.m. With Kevin Murphy as the accompanist, you’ll be treated to a full evening of song in this special “Love is Here to Stay” concert. Once again, this is a free event. Also on February 3rd is Ballet Tucson: Love and Other Dances at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre at UA. Swing music, duets and love-themed choreography are perfectly paired.

On February 4, Ballet Tucson continues with more afternoon and evening performances. Final performances take place on February 5th with both afternoon and night performances, complete with excerpts from beloved operas, all performed live. Don’t miss out on the first week of concerts, song and dance to start your Valentine’s month right.
