Things to Do on Leap Day

You’ve stumbled onto an extra day in gorgeous Tucson—how will you spend it? Four years ago, a local couple made the news by getting hitched at an Arizona White Castle. Others take a leap (literally!) by going to the Marana Skydiving Center, Skydive Arizona, or Bungee Expeditions. Since Leap Day is a holiday for many, business travelers can take advantage of the long weekend and explore the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Pima Air & Space Museum or take advantage of the Jacuzzi suites and sleep in.

There’s no wrong way to do Leap Day! Visit Warden Aquarium and see how your fellow leapers, from frogs to flying fish, are celebrating. You can also take a leap of faith and try out some of Tucson’s more eclectic foodie options. There are sweetbreads at Athens, pig ears at Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket, and red deer meat at Jonathan’s Cork to try.

Monday Madness

Monday is a traditionally slow day for many attractions, which means you can score a deal while celebrating in style. Catch a flick at RoadHouse Cinemas, AMC Loews, or Harkins Theaters. The Tucson Museum of Art is a local treasure, and the International Wildlife Museum gives you a peek into some of the more interesting local residents.

U of A will also have some special events happening on campus, and the Gem and Mineral Show taking place throughout February is a great place to ooh and ahh over some great beauties. What adventure will your next leap land?
